Two objects that change everything in Crimson Desert

Are you struggling to deal decent damage? Is your build stagnating and bosses rolling over you? There are two items in Crimson Desert that can literally transform your game: the King's Dagger and the Lightning Necklace And the best part is that you can grab them relatively early in the adventure.

No need to farm for 40 hours or beat an end-game boss. These two items are hidden behind secret passages and an accessible mini-boss, but most players completely overlook them. We'll show you exactly where to find them and why they're worth checking out.

The King's Dagger: the best dagger in the game, hidden under a tomb

Where to find it

Management Totem field , a small enemy camp located just north of the main city of Pailune (locate yourself with the letter N on the map). It's an area that you can come across quite early in your progression, but that many players pass through without stopping.

Once on site, clean the camp if necessary. In the middle, you will spot a gravestone — a stone stele with inscriptions. Stand on it and use Force Palm (Forest Palm) It will open a secret passage just below.

Descend the ladder that appears. At the bottom, you come across a small underground bunker with a treasure chest. Open it, and boom: the King's Dagger is yours.

Stats and refinement

By default, the King's Dagger comes with already solid stats:

  • Attack : 16 (increases to 30 once fully refined)
  • Critical rate : Level 5 (upgrades to level 9 at max refinement)
  • Attack speed : Level 1
  • Refinement : Basic Level 3
  • Passive : 10% chance to recover additional leather

Level 9 in crit, 30 in attack. For a dagger, this is completely disproportionate. But the real interest of this weapon is not necessarily to keep it in the main hand — it's the boost global stats that it brings to your build. With such a high critical rate and such strong refinement bonuses, the King's Dagger takes your character up a notch. And the additional leather bonus is the cherry on top: you farm monsters and harvest more materials along the way.

Status Default Maximum Refinement

The Lightning Necklace: an accessory that boosts your entire build

Where to find it

For this one, you will have to fight a little. Go to the Eastern Court (Eastern Court), an area located to the east of Demeniss , to the southeast of the Golden Plains. If this is your first visit, you will have to clean the area of all its enemies before the boss shows up.

The boss: Full Moon Reaper

The Full Moon Reaper lands in the main courtyard once you have eliminated the minions. Honestly, nothing to panic about. This boss is accessible even with average gear - he hits properly but his patterns are readable. Manage your dodges, punish between his combos, and it's done.

Access the secret passage of the manor

Once the area is cleaned, enter the mansion located in the courtyard. Inside, take the first door on the left Then, look under the stairs — there is a tapestry hiding a passage leading to the basement. Go down the ladder.

At the bottom, you will find a safe (strongbox) with a dial mechanism. The principle: turn the dial to the right until you hear a click or feel a vibration, then to the left, and repeat. Once unlocked, the Lightning Necklace is yours.

Stats and why it's so strong

The necklace arrives with stats that look modest on paper:

  • Attack : +2 (increases to +5 at max refinement)
  • Critical rate : Level 1 (upgrades to level 4 at max refinement)
  • Refinement : Level 4

+2 in attack, level 1 in crit — said like this, it doesn't sound like much. But in Crimson Desert, accessories stack their bonuses on your entire build. Each additional point of crit, each additional point of attack, adds up with the rest of your equipment. And the Lightning Necklace, once refined, goes up to 5 in attack and level 4 in crit — making it one of the best necklaces in the game at this stage of progression.

Getting it back early gives you a concrete advantage over everything that follows. Your DPS goes up, your crits fall more often, and boss fights become much more manageable.

Why these two objects together break the game

Taken separately, the King's Dagger and the Lightning Necklace are already very good items. Combined, it's a different story. You stack crit rate from two different sources — the dagger goes up to level 9 and the necklace adds level 4. Result: your critical hits rain down, your DPS explodes, and you melt boss HP much faster than with traditional equipment.

The combo is even stronger as these two items are accessible relatively early. You don't need to be in the endgame to get them. The Totemfeld camp in Pailune is playable from mid-game, and the Full Moon Reaper is not an insurmountable wall. Basically, you can equip these items well before the majority of other players and breeze through the following content.

And don't forget the passive of the King's Dagger: 10% extra leather when skinning. It may seem trivial, but when you farm materials for crafting or upgrading your camp, it makes a real difference in the long run.

Quick recap: steps to get both items

King's Dagger

  1. Go to Totemfeld, north of Pailune (letter N on the map)
  2. Cleans the enemies of the camp
  3. Find the tombstone in the center
  4. Use Force Palm (Forest Palm) on it
  5. Go down the secret passage and open the chest

Lightning Necklace

  1. Go to the Eastern Court, east of Demeniss
  2. Eliminate all enemies in the area
  3. Beat the boss Full Moon Reaper
  4. Enter the mansion, door to the left, then under the stairs
  5. Go down to the basement and open the dial safe

FAQ

Is the King's Dagger really the best dagger in Crimson Desert?

With 30 in attack and level 9 in crit at max refinement, it's the most complete dagger in the game. The Goblin King's Treasure Dagger competes with it with 14 in base attack and the same leather passive, but the King's Dagger far surpasses it once refined. If you're looking for the best dagger in all categories, this is the one.

Is the Full Moon Reaper hard to beat?

Not really. It's a mini-boss with fairly classic patterns. If you know how to dodge and punish between its combos, it's doable without too much hassle even with average gear. You don't need to be in the endgame to try it.

At what point in the game can I retrieve these items?

Both are accessible from mid-game. The King's Dagger doesn't even require combat — just Force Palm and a bit of exploration. The Lightning Necklace requires defeating the Full Moon Reaper, but nothing insurmountable. The sooner you get them, the sooner your build becomes more powerful.

Is the Lightning Necklace worth it with only +2 in base attack?

Base stats are misleading. Once fully refined, it goes up to +5 in attack and level 4 in crit. And in Crimson Desert, accessory bonuses stack with the rest of your equipment. Every point matters, especially on the crit rate which scales multiplicatively with your damage.

How does the dial safe for the Necklace work?

It's a mini-puzzle. Turn the dial to the right until you hear a click or feel a vibration from the controller, then turn to the left. Repeat the process until the mechanism unlocks. Nothing complicated, but it's a nice detail that differs from the classic chests.
