Tornadoes, self-resurrection, hidden cannon, anti-heat set... We have gathered the 7 craziest equipment in Crimson Desert with their exact locations.

7 secret equipments with crazy powers in Crimson Desert

Giant tornadoes, automatic resurrections, portable cannons... Crimson Desert hides completely broken equipment all over the map. The problem is that most of them are hidden in secret caves, behind waterfalls, or in chests that are only found by chance. We combed the map to show you the 7 most overpowered pieces in the game. From the necklace that brings you back to life to the armor set that cancels out the heat of the desert, each item here is worth checking out. And we explain exactly where to go and how to get them.

Small detail: we keep the English names of the items because that's how they appear in the game for the majority of players. But the explanations are in good French of course.

Oriental Witch's Fan: the fan that creates tornadoes

Oriental Witch's Fan dans Crimson Desert Click to enlarge

We start strong with a weapon that we do not expect at all to find in this kind of game. The Oriental Witch's Fan is a combat fan hidden on an island south of Déménis, to the left of the Delesia region. It's the big island where you can unlock a witch and do missions with her — but you don't need to have done all that to get the weapon.

Where to find it

Go to the lower part of the island and look for a waterfall. Be careful, this time we don't go behind: it's the wall just to the right of the waterfall that interests us. There is a secret cave. Use your power of concentration to break the wall, enter, and open the chest. Done.

If you have already unlocked Abyss areas in the area, you can access them by air. Otherwise, you will have to walk a bit — but it's worth it.

Why it's cool

By default, the weapon doesn't break three legs of a duck in terms of damage. But improve it almost to the max and the attack figure starts to become serious. The interest lies mainly in the moveset:

  • Light attacks : small quick fan strokes, classic
  • Heavy attack : a shockwave that pushes enemies around you
  • Special attack (R1 + R2) : creates a huge tornado that sends everyone flying. The damage is there, and it's especially super effective against groups

It's more fun than meta, let's not lie to ourselves. But the tornado is still great for managing packs of mobs. Be careful though: it consumes spirit, so make sure you have put some points into it. The only real flaw? The abyssal effect is linked to the weapon itself, you can't transfer it to another one. It's either with this fan or nothing.

Dark Fate: the sword with Remnance of Darkness

Effet Remnance of Darkness dans Crimson Desert Click to enlarge

Here we are entering another category. Dark Fate is a one-handed sword with completely broken abyssal equipment: Remnance of Darkness . Concretely, with each special attack, a huge double lightning strikes your enemies. And it hurts a lot, a lot.

Where to find it

Not before the Chapter 9 You must have access to the Abyss area in the desert. Once that's done, go back to the Nest of Courage (the Nest of Courage in the Abyss) and advance a little further than the main area. Go to the right into a small secondary cave a little hidden: the sword is placed there, like that, without enemy or puzzle. Just a chest waiting for you.

What makes this weapon formidable

Already, the base stats are very decent for a one-handed sword. With a shield, it's a solid combo. But the real craziness is the abyssal equipment. Remnance of Darkness triggers on R1 + R2, and the double lightning strike that falls behind inflicts massive area damage.

And where it becomes completely abusive: you can remove the effect from a witch and stick it on any other weapon. Even better, it adds up with other abyssal effects on the same special attack . Like you put Remnance of Darkness + the attack of darkness that we had seen in a previous guide, and both trigger at the same time. Imagine the carnage. You can even stack a third one if you have the space. In short, go get it as soon as you finish chapter 9.

Rinard's Exceptional Howitzer: Cliff's cannon lance

Obusier de Rinard dans Crimson Desert Click to enlarge

Normally, the cannon is Oongka's crazy idea with his big armband. But Cliff also has the right to his long-range weapon, and it's a pretty crazy hybrid object: the Rinard's Exceptional Howitzer works both as a spear AND as a cannon. The game doesn't tell you clearly, by the way.

Where to find it

Head to the bottom left corner of the Delesia region, not far from where we had recovered the chainsaw. Look for an old half-ruined tower by the side of the road. It may not look like much, but it hides an entire underground passage.

Enter the building, go down through the basement entrance. First obstacle: a classic riddle with two torches to light on each side to open the door. Then, watch out for traps — giant circular saws that move through the hallway. You can simply leap into the air to jump over them. Activate the lever behind and the chest is right there.

Double gameplay lance + cannon

In normal mode, it's a spear as classic as can be: piercing attacks, good range, practical against groups like all spears. Nothing in the description mentions that you can shoot with it. Yet, the special attack (R1 + R2) fires shells directly It surprises the first time.

By default, ranged damage isn't huge, but by improving the weapon, it becomes a real alternative gameplay. You can hit enemies in the air, snipe mobs on the ground from an elevated position... It's a weapon that offers versatility that no other spear has in the game.

Faith Vagabond's Leather Gloves: kinetic balls for close combat

Sursaut de Force des gants du vagabond dans Crimson Desert Click to enlarge

If you like to fight barehanded - and yes, it's totally viable in Crimson Desert - these gloves will change your life. Faith Vagabond's Leather Gloves are leather gloves that belong to Damian by default, but the abyssal effect Power Surge can be transferred to Cliff's gloves or any character's.

Where to find them

Go all the way down to the region between Déménis and Delesia, where the river meets the ocean. Next to the town bridge, you will spot a waterfall. Climb to the intermediate level, on the left waterfall, and look for a small core. Classic: use a piercing attack to go through the water wall, and the chest is behind with the gloves inside.

Force Surge in practice

The abyssal equipment Power Surge triggers when you chain light attacks with R1. It projects kinetic balls at enemies, dislodges them, and also deals decent damage. It's a huge addition to unarmed gameplay which, without it, remains quite limited against big enemies.

As usual, go to a witch to extract the effect and stick it on the gloves you really use. There's an even more powerful upgrade that unlocks on a boss, but that's another story.

Scorched Flame Set: the heat-resistant armor for the desert

Set complet Scorched Flame dans Crimson Desert Click to enlarge

Do you remember the ice resistance set we saw at the beginning of the game? The desert is the same problem but in reverse. The heat eats away at your stamina, battles become difficult, and you spend your time looking for shade. Scorched Flame Set rule all that. It's one of the best fire resistance armors in the game, and it's classy too.

Where to find each part

The complete set is found in the area between Hernand and Déménis. All the pieces are relatively close to each other, which is rare for a complete set.

Gloves — Twilight Cave, between Hernand and Déménis. Descend into the crevasse, focus on the right waterfall, attack the perforation behind, and the chest is there. These are the gloves with the effect. Volcanic Eruption that we had used in a fire build. If you don't have them yet, now is the time.

Cape — Just next to the glove cave, there is another somewhat discreet cavern. You will come across a mini-boss, the Tomb Walker (a rock golem). Eliminate it, collect the artifacts it drops — especially the power core with the electric effect, it's useful for the Cuckoo's workshop. Go through the door behind it, and here's the tricky part: to the right of this door, there is a secret passage. Climb the wall, hold on with R2, use your palm effect to rotate the wall. The chest with the cape is on the other side.

Boots — Go back and head to the waterfall a little further towards the river. Go up to the middle level and go behind, the chest is right there. We had already seen it in a previous guide, nothing new.

Headset — Head to Pierre Puit's farm, right next to Déménis. Find the small tower that stands out from the other buildings, go upstairs, pass through the door: the chest with the helmet is waiting for you. It has a built-in fire resistance artifact.

Armor (breastplate) — Get closer to Déménis, at the Golden Counter (the trading area). It's a long building where you can sell your valuable goods. In the middle, there is a small door a bit hidden. Crouch down to pass underneath: the chest with the breastplate is in the secret room behind.

Is the set worth it?

With the 5 equipped pieces, you have enough fire resistance to cross the desert without losing stamina. It is almost mandatory before attacking the desert area , otherwise your battles will be a nightmare. However, if you want to go even further — like walking on lava — you will need to add some Fire Veil equipment in addition. But for the desert itself, this set is more than enough.

Part Location Access
Gloves Twilight Cave (between Hernand and Déménis) Right cascade, punching attack
Cape Adjacent cave to the glove cave Defeat the Tomb Walker, secret passage (R2 + palm)
Boots Cascade near the river (same area) Intermediate level, behind the waterfall
Headset Pierre Puit Farm (near Déménis) Tower in height, chest on the floor
Armor Golden Counter (Déménis) Hidden door in the middle of the building, crouching

Tariv's Necklace: the automatic second chance

Collier de Tariv dans Crimson Desert Click to enlarge

30 minutes of cooldown. Automatic resurrection. Full life. The Tariv's Necklace is probably the most useful equipment on this list. You die, you come back immediately with your full health bar, as if you had used a refined palm concentrate. Except that it's free and unlimited.

Where to find it

It happens in Déménis. If you have progressed enough in the story, the city is liberated and you can walk around peacefully. Otherwise, you can try the rush, but it's tight since the chest is almost in the middle of the city.

Find the building with the small inner courtyard and climb the stairs to enter. Inside, go back down to the lower level. There is a secret passage behind the library — crouch down to get behind. You come across a safe with a code to enter.

Safe solution

The keys are arranged in two rows: 1-2-3 at the top, 4-5-6-7 at the bottom (ignore the keys on the right). The code is 1 - 2 - 6 - 5 . Press in this order, the trunk opens. Remember to have your thief mask equipped to be able to retrieve the box inside.

A permanent safety net

Equip the necklace and check that it is properly selected in your armor wheel. Its effect triggers automatically when you die. The 30-minute cooldown may seem long, but in practice this necklace is mainly there to save you from stupid deaths: a silly fall, a mob that one-shots you by surprise, a boss catching you in an animation. It saves you palm concentrates and prevents rage quits.

Bonus: the personal cauldron for your camp

Chaudron dans la maison du campement Crimson Desert Click to enlarge

Not a combat equipment per se, but a huge quality of life that many players miss out on. Are you tired of teleporting to a witch every time you want to make palm concentrates? You can buy your own cauldron and put it in your home.

Where to buy

Go to the sawmill in Villebois , right next to the town of Hernande. It's a furniture store that you've probably passed by without paying attention. Go all the way down its list of items: the cauldron is there, for 48 silver coins It's not cheap, but it's a purchase we make once.

Why it's great

Place it in your house next to the camp. If you have built the bridge (mentioned in our camp guide), the cauldron becomes ultra accessible. You can make your palm concentrates just before going on a mission without detouring to a witch. It's the kind of little comfort that changes everyday life in the game.

FAQ

Can all abyssal effects be transferred to other weapons?

Most yes, at any witch's. But some are linked to the weapon, like the Oriental Witch's Fan. Always check before spending resources on improvement.

Do you have to have finished the game to get this equipment?

No, but some ask to have progressed in the story. The Dark Fate requires chapter 9, and Tariv's Necklace is in an area that unlocks quite late. The others are accessible quite early if you explore well.

Is the Scorched Flame Set mandatory for the desert?

Technically no, you can go without it. But the heat will constantly eat away at your endurance and your fights will be much more complicated. It is strongly recommended to have at least a few pieces of fire resistance before venturing there.

How long does the Tariv's Necklace cooldown last?

30 minutes exactly. It seems long, but you're not supposed to die every 5 minutes either. It's a safety net, not a spam of resurrections.

Does Rinard's howitzer really work like a cannon?

Yes, the special attack (R1 + R2) fires shells. The game does not mention it anywhere in the weapon description, it is completely hidden. By upgrading the weapon, the long-range damage becomes very decent.
