GTA 6 on PC: What can we expect in terms of system requirements?

Even for a Full HD playable experience, it is advisable to avoid older GPUs that are too outdated: the GTX 16xx or RX 500 are clearly below the recommended levels today. Modern mid-range cards are the best entry point.

• NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 / RTX 5050 — good minimum for 1080p, especially if you stay at medium graphics.
• AMD Radeon RX 7600 — AMD mid-range equivalent with 8GB of VRAM.

These GPUs now allow recent AAA games to run at 1080p with a good compromise between visual quality and smoothness. For GTA 6, they should be the reasonable minimum to avoid significant FPS drops and stuttering.

If you have an older card (RTX 3060, RX 6600 XT, etc.), the game may run, but probably with significant graphical compromises.

For a smooth experience in Full HD with high details or in WQHD (1440p), it is better to turn to the current or recent generation.

• NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 / RTX 5070 Ti - very good balance performance/price for 1440p.
• NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti - solid in 1080p Ultra, capable of holding 1440p with DLSS.
• AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT / RX 9070 - AMD also offers very competitive GPUs in this range.

These GPUs are well suited if you aim for stable 60 FPS or more at 1440p, with good results in ray tracing if the game implements it effectively.

If your goal is to play in native 4K with the visual settings maxed out, especially with ray tracing and future developments of Rockstar's engine, you have to aim very high.

• NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 / RTX 5090 — raw power to push GTA 6 to the max.
• AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT — high-end AMD alternative very capable.

These cards are the ones that will allow you to screw in the graphic details without compromise, while remaining comfortable on 4K resolutions and modern technologies (DLSS/FSR, intense ray tracing).

• VRAM: aim for at least 8GB of VRAM for comfort in 1080p/1440p, and 12GB or more if you play in 4K or with heavy mods/ultra settings.
• NVMe SSD: a fast SSD is almost essential to reduce loading times in an open world as vast as that of GTA VI.
• DLSS / FSR: these upscaling technologies will make a big difference in performance, especially with RTX 50xx GPUs.
