- •We now recommend using DDR5 for all new builds. It is stable and prices are now reasonable.
- •If you are building a new setup, it is better to get RAM in pairs or sets of four. The RAM will therefore operate in pairs, and memory management will be highly optimized.
Pros
- •If you have the budget, DropReference recommends getting 2 x 16 GB (32 GB) for RAM. While 2 x 8 GB (16 GB) is sufficient for 99% of cases, it's always better to have some headroom if you're running applications in addition to demanding games.
Cons
- •For DDR4, the latency of this RAM is very high and may cause lags in recent games. DropReference advises you to choose a latency below 19 for gaming.
